Can’t really say that we were close friends, but we hung out and spent some really good times and tours together. This picture is from Berlin June 16, 2009, and we’re just about to grab a cab to the Berlin Casino. Motörhead was a true Rock N’ Roll ”thermometer”. If you’ve been a musician for lets say 20 years, and haven’t toured with Motörhead, you might still be in a rock band, but you are not in a Rock N’ Roll band. See you on the other side. ✖️

Actually, I'm pissed off Lem is dead. This sucks. One of the last REAL rock n roll motherfuckers has crossed over & I miss him. He was true to himself without question. He knew, there was no other pathway. A no bullshit, one of a kind, sharp tongued, hard livin', un-PC, stylish, hilarious & flat out genuine badass leader. He didn't give a fuck about yer peanut gallery, your anonymous opinion in the comment section or your fragile fucking sensibilities. Yet, he was always a caring & fascinating, kind & honest, gracious & a wise, intelligent & valuable friend. Never a bully, always a honorable rogue. You got a straight answer outta Lem, even if it was not what you wanted to hear. Because he was the genuine article. a maverick, an icon. The rest of these posers are trying to sell you water & champagne or are "building their brand"… Just Fucking snake oil salesmen. Toads. Greedy jive ass turkeys. Panderers. Hacks. Followers. Desperate for fame. Fuck fame. Fame is the toilet paper used on the ass of infamy. & infamy is dangerous & chaotic. Fuck safety. Fuck rules. Fuck insurance based suggestions. Lemme's "brand" was forged in the fires of individuality & would scar you for life. Lemmy IS rock n roll. Lemmy cared for his crew, his fans & that's it. He United punks & metalheads without being either, yet somehow embodied both. He had the respect from all scenes & sides. No one, I mean, no one else did. Or could've. An icon, an inspiration to millions and the epitome of integrity. I didn't know #lemmy that well but somehow I felt like I knew him like a brother. His unwavering dedication and commitment embodies the heart of heavy metal and he wrote he rule book we all grew up on and continue to pledge allegiance to. Awful news to hear of Lemmy's passing. Lemmy was the quintessential punk. He lived life on his own terms. He wrote music for his fans and for him. He was louder than anyone on stage and yet quiet and gentle off stage. His fans will miss him, and so will I. I first met Lemmy in 1987 in the UK at the Reading Festival. Motorhead was on tour with us for the "Raise Your Fist And Yell" tour. Since then we've toured together several times and have done countless festival shows together. This is us backstage in 2012 watching Kung Fu before my show, captured by my assistant @cerealkyler. #riplemmy

The real dang deal …the originator …within seconds on the radio I new it was him ~ distinctive bass and vocal approach …he lived for Rock n roll…in the 80's l Failed miserably to keep up with him at the bar…he set the bar .he Was he bar ..
